8 Days Tazama cultural safari

 

Day 1: Nairobi – Baringo

Leave Nairobi for L. Baringo. Picnic Lunch en-route. On arrival at L. Baringo in the afternoon set up Camp / check in Lodge. Afternoon fishing excursions and bird watching. A visit to the Njemps community is a must. Mingle for song and dance before return to lodge for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 2: Baringo / Maralal/ South Horr
After breakfast, leave baringo for Maralal. Picnic lunch en route. A walk after lunch through the most colourful town, before proceeding to Baragoi via Losiolo which is in the edge of the Great Rift Valley.

 

 Dinner and overnight.

 

Day 3: South Horr- Lake Turkana
 After breakfast leave for lake Turkana arriving in time for lunch at El Molo on the shore of Lake Turkana. Mingle with the Turkana people, who have an exciting history. Rest of the day at Leisure by the Jade sea.

Day 4: lake Turkana
After breakfast visit the El-Molo village. The El-molo is one of the smallest tribes in Africa and quite different from Turkana. Lunch and afternoon at leisure , fishing or swimming if crocodiles allow. Rocks around the lake are an interesting study.

Day 5: Turkana - Maralal
 After breakfast leave Turkana for Maralal . Lunch en route.  Dinner and overnight at Maralal.

 

Day 6: Maralal –Samburu

After breakfast leave Maralal for Samburu reserve. On arrival proceed to
Camp / lodge, thereafter proceed for a late evening game drive. Look out for the samburu specials which include the Gerenuk(wall antelope), Somali ostrich, Leopard, reticulated giraffe and others.

 

Dinner and overnight at the Lodge /Camp.

 

Day 7: Samburu

Early morning game drive. Return to the camp/ Lodge for breakfast then proceed to a Samburu community village visit. Colourfully dressed Samburu men and women will invite you for a jig.

 

Return for Dinner and overnight.

 

Day 8: Samburu - Nairobi
After  breakfast leave Samburu for Nanyuki town for Lunch. Arrive in Nairobi later in the Afternoon. Optional excursion/shopping. Transfer to airport for your flight home.
