What is the type of clothing I should pack? Due to our favorable climate conditions, visitors to the East African region are encouraged to travel with clothing that suit moderate temperatures. It is not hot or too cold. Our terrain is sloppy so bring comfortable shoes.  Things like jewelry leave behind because it might get lost in the wilderness and will be difficult to retrieve them.

Will I get information in advance concerning the places I will visit, people to meet and the type of wildlife to watch? Yes, upon confirmation of your trip we will send to you detailed information about the local culture, flora and fauna, our safari etiquette, etc.

Is passport part of the requirement needed to visit Kenya Tanzania safari? Definitely, it is necessary for any traveler visiting Kenya or Tanzania. The passport should be valid for at least 6 months.

Does one require visa to enter Kenya or Tanzania? Yes, all the US citizens must in possession of visa before entry day to Kenya or Tanzania safari. You can visit Kenya Embassy website or Tanzania Embassy website for more information. Generally, it is advisable for anyone who is planning a visit to a different country to have one.

How long does it cost to own a visa and how long does the process take? The process is very simple and it will take only a few minutes. The price vary for instance, a single Kenyan entry visa will cost you $50 per head especially for the US passport holders. You can obtain it through the Kenya Embassy website or during the arrival day to Nairobi airport.  Alternatively, you can obtain it from The Tanzania Embassy website and which will cost $100 per head for the US passport holders. Another option is that you can get it upon arrival in Kilimanjaro or Arusha or Namanga and isebania gates.

Is it possible to use one visa when visiting Tanzania or Zanzibar? Why not, you can use one visa for both places because the two are one country.

What is the mode of paying departure tax and do I have to pay? Yes, like other international flight destination Private Guided Safaris charge an airport departure tax for all international flights. Before departure, you should confirm with your airline in order to find out if the tax of $ 20 is included or excluded in your ticket. If not, you will be required to pay in cash upon arrival in the airport. We accept either local currency or US dollars.

LUGGAGE

How much luggage should carry on safari? Before departures confirm with the airline the size of luggage, you should carry. The size of the luggage varies depending on the airline. Most of the airlines permits up to a limit of 50-pound bags per head with one carry on each.

For the flights between Kenyan and Tanzania what is the luggage allowance? With the inclusion of your handbag, the maximum allowance for each luggage is 33 pounds.

Are there any charges for leaving luggage’s at the hotel? No, this is because every hotel has its own storage policies. You should confirm with your hotel experts but if you will return to the hotel, you will not be charged.

CLIMATE CONDITIONS

How is the Kenyan Tanzania climate condition? It is a tropical climate because Kenya is at the center of the equator while Tanzania is not far from the south. The coast regions are hot and humid. The temperature at the inland is high because of altitude. Northern parts are dry and hot  The annual temperature in Nairobi is 77F maximum and 56F minimum (4,980 feet altitude). Coastal regions of Mombasa are 86F maximum 73F minimum (altitude of 50 feet). The sunshine is in plenty throughout the year and you may need summer clothes at a certain time of the year.  Mornings and nights are chilly.  Most of the time long rains start from March to May while shorter ones are in November and December. February to march is the hottest months of the year while the July to August is the most chilly and coldest months. Heavy rains come in the afternoons and evening.
