Tour Details

This 15-day adventure is a once in a lifetime experience which takes you to the peak of Mt Kilimanjaro, down to the Arusha National Park, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro and Serengeti. It’s a chance to experience the rich culture at Mto Wa Mbu and that of the Maasai village. Your search for the tallest peak ends with a search of the big five and other incredible animals. The safari will include trekking, game drives, walking safaris, and bike safaris.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival at Arusha.

Our driver will pick you up and transfer you to a lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 2Machame camp

Early morning will begin with a drive to the Machame gate where your things will be parked by the porters while you register with the Tanzania National Park.
Your trek begins immediately into the rainforest characterized by fog, rain and mud. You may see some colobus monkeys on the way and other smaller animals. We arrive at Machame camp where food and tents will be ready for an overnight rest. Carry some warm clothing because the nights can get extremely cold.

Day 3 Shira camp

Walk along the steep rocky ridges of the rainforest. Over the ridge, we come across the river gorge where Shira camp is located.

Day 4Barranco camp

The landscape changes to semi-desert and rocky. We stop at the Lava Tower for some packed lunch. After lunch and some rest, we begin the descend to Barranco campsite for dinner and overnight.

Day 5 Karanga valley camp

We begin our climb of the Great Barranco wall after breakfast and get an enchanting view of the ground below from the Heim Glaciers.
We head down to the Karanga valley and 5 hours after we left Barranco, arrive at the Karanga camp. You will find hot water and some hot dinner awaiting the courtesy of the porters and chefs.

Day 6Barafu camp

We follow the lava ridge steadily uphill until we get to Barafu Camp. Here the temperature gets even colder. This is where we will start our summit climb from midnight. We retire early after some hot meals.

Day 7Barafu camp to Uhuru peak

At midnight, we begin our trek to the Stella point after some tea and biscuits. The trek continues up to Uhuru peak from where you can take victory dances and photos.
Tea will be served and thereafter, we descend to Mweka hut campsite. We will retire after having some hot dinner.

Day 8Mweka gate

We descend to Mweka gate and here you all get certificates for finishing the climb. The drivers will be ready to pick you up and transfer you to an overnight lodge. Here you can shower, relax, have dinner and rest for the night.

Day 9Arusha national park

After breakfast, we head to the Arusha national park for some spectacular wildlife views. From here, we can watch the popular Mt. Meru, the Momela lakes and the Ngurdoto Crater. The park is set against lush highland forests that cover its lower slopes.
The elusive leopard can be sighted during the late afternoons and early mornings. Numerous flamingoes paint the Momella lakes an incredible pink.
Other animals to see include the blue monkeys, snow white baboons, giraffes, zebras, dik-diks, and warthogs. The only big five animals at this park are the buffalo.
The afternoon will include canoeing on the lakes. Canoeing offers you great views of the animals against the forest backdrop. It’s an adventure of its kind that relaxes the mind and the body.
Watch as the hippos bask in the sun. Witness as the Buffaloes, waterbucks and bushbucks quench their thirst at the lake while the numerous birds fly in and out of the lake.
Dinner and overnight at lodge.

Day 10Mto wa Mbu

Go for an incredible village walk at Mto wa Mbu. Interact with the people and learn about their rich culture. The village is home to more than 120 different tribes. A guide will take you through the banana plantations with over 30 banana varieties, the church, schools and if lucky, get to taste the local brew made from millets and bananas.
After lunch, the fun starts with bike rides through the villages as you head to Lake Manyara. From here, you can view the different animals from a distance, including the zebras, wildebeests, buffalos, flamingos and Impalas.
Dinner at the lodge and then a night drive safari in searches of nocturnal animals like the porcupine, leopard and so many more. Head back to the lodge for a restful night.

Day 11Lake Manyara

We embark on a morning game drive after breakfast. Lake Manyara National Park has abundant wildlife. This includes the warthog, waterbucks, impalas, blue monkeys, the dik-dik, wildebeests, and the baboons. Watch as the lions in this park, climb trees and relax atop the acacia trees!
After lunch, we take an afternoon drive to a traditional Maasai village. They have a rich culture that will amaze you.
Overnight at lodge. All meals included.

Day 12Serengeti National park

The Serengeti national park has stunning views and abundant wildlife. We will take morning and afternoon game drives where you will be on the lookout for the sneaky leopard, lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, hippos, wildebeests, zebras, crocodiles and many more.
Meals and overnight at lodge.

Day 13Ngorongoro crater

The Ngorongoro crater offers a scenic view of the big five and the herbivorous as they graze on the rich grounds. The crater is home to numerous animals, including the buffalos, leopards, rhinos, huge tusked elephants, wildebeests, Zebras, Thomson gazelles, baboons, jackals, and many more.
If lucky, you may spot the rare golden cat or the serval. The crater is also home to numerous bird species.
Dinner and overnight at lodge.

Day 14Arusha

Breakfast will be followed by a drive back to Arusha where we will have lunch. Our driver will drop you off at the airport for your flight home.
