Tour Details

There is something magical about watching wild animals in their natural habitat. On this safari, you get to experience this and so much more. The Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro safari will give you memories that will last you a lifetime. It’s a chance to connect with nature with bush safaris and sleeping under the stars near a campfire. It’s a chance to see the big five and other incredible animals. This includes the rare ones like the Dik-dik and the wild dogs.

Itinerary

Day 1Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After pickup, our experienced drivers will drop you off at Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s famous gems. Named after the Tarangire river flowing through it, the park has the largest number of elephants. It’s also home to the big five and other animals, including the minuscule dik-dik and the tall giraffes.
Tarangire also houses the endangered greater kudu, fringe-eared Oryx and the tiny ashy starling. The months of June to November attract a huge number of migratory animals like the gazelles, wildebeests, zebras, and hartebeests. However, all year round you can watch the other animals. The many swamps that characterize the park make it easy to spot the animals.
Lunch will be at a picnic spot, followed by an afternoon game drive. We will retire to a lodge in the evening where we will have some rest and dinner.

Day 2Serengeti National Park

Breakfast at Tarangire will be followed by a ride to Serengeti National Park. The views en route are breathtaking- Mto wa Mbu, Karatu and a view of the Rift Valley from the viewing platform. Continue the journey with awesome views of the vegetation and the Maasai villages.
The Nabii Hill entrance gate also offers great views of the Serengeti Savannah plains. After some photo sessions at the viewpoint, we continue our journey to the Serengeti. We will have our lunch en route.
The Serengeti is one of the iconic safari destinations in Africa. It borders the Maasai National Reserve in Kenya and together they host the annual great migration. This is when thousands of animals’ cross from one side to the other in search of greener pastures and water.
We will arrive at camp late in the afternoon. Here, you get a real bush experience, sleeping under the night stars with the sounds of the wild so close you could touch them.
All meals included.

Day 3Serengeti National Park

Explore and experience a full day in the Serengeti. After a splendid breakfast, we head out to the Serengeti National Park.
Depending on timing, we may get to see the Great Migration where thousands of zebras, wildebeests and Thomson gazelle migrate either from the Maasai Mara (October – November) or through the Serengeti after the rainy season in April-June. This can change, though, depending on weather changes. The animals can also migrate during different times or use different routes.
The experienced guides will try their best to ensure you view the animals from the best spot. This migration is also a magnet for predators like the lions and the leopards who wait patiently for the weak link. You may get to experience a chase and kill in action.
Other animals to watch out for include the Grant gazelle, the rare dik-dik, the Coke’s hartebeest and the roan antelope. Serengeti is famous for having the largest pride of lions. It’s also an awesome place to spot the leopard, the endangered wild dog, different hyena species, cheetahs, the aardwolf, the ground pangolin, and on rare occasions, the black rhino.
It’s also a birdwatcher’s paradise with more than 500 bird species including the spurfowl, the Fischer’s lovebird, the rufous-tailed weaver and a huge number of ostriches.
Spend overnight at camp after a delicious dinner. All meals included.

Day 4Ngorongoro Crater-Karatu

After breakfast, we head out of the Serengeti on our way to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This gives us an opportunity for an early game drive as we head out of the Serengeti. This is when the predators are catching their morning kill while other animals move to the waterholes to quench their morning thirst.
Lunch will be a picnic in a designated spot, then we continue our journey to the crater.
The Ngorongoro crater is a breathtaking natural wonder. The UNESCO Wild Heritage Site is one of the places in the world you are guaranteed to see the big five. It’s about 19km’s in diameter with walls that stand at a height of 610m.
The volcanic craters are a stunning backdrop against the unique crater. The grazing grounds are an incredible hunting ground for the predators as they stalk and prey on the grazing animals. The vegetation of grasslands, acacia woodlands and swamps make for great camouflage for the predators. The nutritious grass on the open plains provides food to the zebras, wildebeest, Thompson gazelle and topi. Other animals to see include the black rhino, buffalos, elephants, hyenas, cheetahs, golden jackal, bat-eared foxes, and leopards. The lions make for a huge attraction since they hunt even at proximity to the vehicles. Sometimes, they will even seek shade beside the vehicles.
We will exit the crater on a different road and head to Karatu for some dinner and well-deserved rest.
All meals included.

Day 5Arusha

You will return to Arusha after breakfast. Those willing to combine this trip with a safari to Zanzibar can take a connecting flight from the Kilimanjaro International Airport or the local Arusha airport.
Meals provided include breakfast and lunch.
